Former Cuban President Fidel Castro resigns from his function as President of Cuba.
The Cuban National Assembly should convene to elect a new president, commander in chief, and head of the party.
Most probably these functions previously held by Fidel Castro will not be given to only one person but disributed among different party members.

Re: Around the World (Feb 19, 2008)
The worst comment on Castro's resignation was by Mr Bush.
"The international community should work with the Cuban people to begin to build institutions that are necessary for a democracy, and eventually this transition ought to lead to free and fair elections"

Hope this democracy is not the same as the one in Iraq!
