Let us discuss procedures and how things are organized in Lighthouse here.

In trying to start off our first discussion, the Declaration of Independence, I found that I wanted to discuss many things, and I did not want those discussions to mix or get lost.

For example, I did not want to try to keep track of a discussion of Human Rights and a discussion of when should Governments be established.... all in one thread.

It is apparent to me that we should have more than one thread.
I also believe that each topic should get a subsection to house those threads (like the "July - 2009" section, only now it will be "U.S. Declaration of Independence". It will be distracting to have threads from different topics just mingling.

What do you think?

A separate thread for each subtopic is better for an organized discussion, but we can entitle our post to the related topic instead opening too much subsection?

Couldn't have said it better. If this derails into off-topic issues dealing with the present, then we're not discussing the Declaration of Independence anymore.
