please visit http://www.whywork.org

there are a lot of readings there, one of them is by Bob Black, very interesting and convincing, but its too long, called "the abolition of work". It can be found at: http://www.whywork.org/rethinking/whywork/abolition.html

There is also a part by french demonstrators that is very interesting and short, they can be found at: http://www.whywork.org/rethinking/whywork/knabb.html

in case anyone checks it out, please tell me what you think... there is a very interesting concept, that started with Proudhon, which is about replacing "work" with "play" or "leisure". It is a very very interesting concept in which the very basic ideas you have about society are challenged. Marx responded to Proudhon's book "Philosophy of Misery" (which was the first book to suggest the idea, and i think the first book to talk about anarchy and anarchism and actually calling it this way), anyhow, Marx responded strongly in his book "Misery of Philosophy". I have NOT read any of those yet. But the site whywork has too many entries about the subject.

enjoy
peace

In case you have'nt heard of Anti-work Empty On the nail

Very Happy Really interesting concept; for me it begins to answer my last post "the beginning: from the individual to society".

I especially love "As long as money exists, there will never be enough for everyone" in the last link (hahah! thus, screw the concept of money). It summarizes everything that is wrong with the Society we built for ourselves, that lost us our "humanity" (in my view).

The one thing with "anti-work" though, is that a Society with today's work-ethic can out-compete an anti-work one. An anti-work society might not survive in the face of a capitalist one, for example.

well your first part of the comment i cant agree more. the second part is a very big issue, there is more than one way that anti-work people think of it, one is that they dont expect countries to become anti-work over night and then have this classical conflict between societies. in fact i think they are working from within, just like the french people i mentioned
